The one entitled "Barbara, Lennox, Celia, Arthur and Olive"
is of my father (Lennox, 2nd from left) and his brother and
sisters taken at my first wedding in 1972. As far as I know
this is the last picture of them all together as Celia died
shortly after this. Sadly, only Barbara (wearing a yellow
coat in the picture) is still living. She is the mother of my
cousin Julie who used to write to Diane Bauer. In the
background and to the left, you can just see my mother Dorothy
in a pink suit, Violet Dalrymple in blue (estranged wife of
Alan Dalrymple, son of Albert Victor. I believe she
corresponded with and may have met Sybil) and Ivy
in cream who was Arthur's wife.
Barbara is my father’s youngest sister. She was born on 6th February 1918 in Smethwick in Birmingham and was 4 years older than my father. She married Anthony Colin Thomas in Birmingham in 1941. They have 3 children - Julie, Alan & Ian. Tony died in 1997. Olive was born in 1908, married William Orton in Birmingham in 1941 and died in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Leicestershire in 1994 - they did not have any children. William was a widower when they married and had children of his own.
